Diabetes Piktochart Infographic

So over the past week, I was assigned to make a Infographic using piktochart. I chose to create a infographic about diabetes. I chose diabetes as my topic because it is something that hits close to home, being that my father and other members live with diabetes.

Today I am working on completing the rest of my animation sketch on xtranormal.com. So far I have changed the topic of the conversation from Hardcore Punk music to horror films. I am really looking forward to working on this assignment. I feel that this tool/website will be very useful in the future for telling stories.

I think I am going to create another animation that will discuss the concepts of social media and multimedia journalism.

Animated Cartoon Assignment

So today we (journalism 121 class) have been assigned an assignment that involves us creating our our cartoon animated sketch with a dialogue on XtraNormal. I have two ideas, one that is about two kids discussing the differences in the music they like; punk music. In the other sketch, I would like to have two individuals discussing the difference and dominance of one sport over the other; futbol vs. football. Hopefully all goes well.

Learning how to use Storify to tell a story

Last week we began using Storify to combine various forms of social media to create a story. My group and I were assigned to create a storify story about president Obama's inauguration, which took place on Martin Luther King day Monday 21, 2013. We were told to search for posts made by students, that reflected their reactions to the presidents inaugural address. I think that if we were given the opportunity to assign ourselves our own topic, we'd probably would have created a more interesting story. But this is Multimedia Journalism 121, not personal time.
